Connecting communities through music

For over 20 years, Prairie Debut has linked Canadian classical musicians and world music artists to over 80 mostly rural communities in Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and the Yukon.

EVENTS

Prairie Debut is actively working to support Canadian classical and global musicians and our presenting partners as we evolve from an unprecedented time. Wherever possible, we are creating opportunities to connect audiences with our family of artists through virtual and live events, as health guidelines allow. In 2020, we introduced the Close to Home concept, as we facilitate concert performances involving local artists. Check back or join our mailing list to be notified of upcoming events as they are scheduled.

Prairie Debut’s CURRENT artists

“The performance was well received by all (even a few in attendance who usually don’t appreciate classical music commented on how good the performance was). One comment of: “Best concert ever! Not just best of the season.” …. The performers were engaging and entertaining while speaking to the audience and the musical performance was fabulous!”

Tonia Vermette  |  Yorkton Arts Council | Yorkton SK

Fostering musical education and artistic performance is vital to Prairie Debut’s purpose. In addition to our touring and showcase concerts, Prairie Debut presents classical musicians and world music artists at school performances, workshops, private concerts and masterclasses across Western Canada.

“The talent was amazing …. Such lovely young people to work with, and they were crowd pleasers, mixing right in and greeting everyone on their way out after the show. We had about 25 young piano students there as well as several teachers. The crowd responded really well to the question and answer period as there were many questions. Thank you for sending them out on tour.”
