Recently returning from Tokyo where she performed Sibelius’ Violin Concerto in D minor with one of Japan’s most prestigious symphonies, the NHK Symphony Orchestra, violinist Susanne Hou is becoming a prominent performer on the international concert stage. Recent concerts also include a Shanghai performance with the London Symphony in the presence of 10,000 audience members. As well as garnering much attention on the international scene Ms. Hou’s reputation continues to develop in Canada with an upcoming concerto performance with the Winnipeg Symphony in February 2006. In 2003 Susanne was awarded first place and the use of the multi-million dollar Guarneri del Gesu violin from The Canada Council – Musical Instrument Bank. This award adds to an impressive list of competition prizes. She has already captured Gold Medals at three international violin competitions: the Jacques Thibaud (France 1999), Rodolfo Lipizer (Italy 1999), and Pablo Sarasate (Spain 1997).

Daniel Spiegel has won numerous competitions and awards and is currently completing his Master of Music degree in Piano Performance at the Juilliard School. Mr. Spiegel has appeared recently in recitals at the German and Icelandic Embassies and at the Sulgrave Club and Arts Club of Washington. This November, he will perform in the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. Other upcoming engagements include debuts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Louvre Auditorium. Mr. Spiegel also performs extensively as a collaborative artist with both instrumentalists and vocalists.

Ms. Hou, accompanied by pianist Daniel Spiegel, will be performing works by Tartini, Debussy, Faure, Ernst, Paganini, Tang, de Falla and Wieniawski.
