The Blue Dawn Quartet showcase that simplest and most ancient of instruments, the human voice. Singers Kimberley Lynch, Meagan Zantingh, Alexandra Asher and Rona Nadler draw you into a captivating performance celebrating the works of women composers and poets.
Their program is a luminous intertwining of verse and voice which spans centuries and styles. Selections vary from the stark and sensual words of medieval poet Beatriz de Dia, through the charm of Margaret Deland’s flower songs to American poet Collette Inez’s reflective “Collette’s Heirlooms.” The centerpiece of the program is Rona Nadler’s original setting of Yiddish poems by Kadya Molodowsky.
Open your senses to this richly textured soundscape, buoyed by the personal warmth and chemistry of four exceptional vocalists.

A CAPELLA VOCALS
Founded in 2020, Blue Dawn Quartet brings together the warm, luminous voices of Kimberley Lynch, Meagan Zantingh, Alexandra Asher and Rona Nadler in performances that are both light-hearted and heart-felt. The group’s first major project was recording a set of original songs by quartet member and director Rona Nadler on texts by Yiddish poet Kadya Molodowsky.
The group has performed across the Montreal region with CAM en tournée (Montreal Arts Council on Tour) and has been featured at both the KlezKanada Summer Retreat and Festival de la Voix. In addition to performing original compositions, Blue Dawn seeks out repertoire that is strong in emotional resonance and storytelling. Their selections range in style from pop, jazz and folk arrangements to more abstract contemporary works, with an emphasis on female composers and poets.
