BIOGRAPHY
Canadian pianist Tong Wang is recognized for her innovative contributions to performance, research, and community engagement. Her work investigates the intersection of art with identity, culture, and contemporary issues.
Performance highlights include collaborations with the Edmonton and Red Deer Symphony Orchestras, and with ensembles throughout North America and Europe.
Tong holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Piano Performance from the New England Conservatory, and is a graduate of the Schulich School of Music and and a doctorate fellow at McGill University.
Tong’s recent tours have explored multiculturalism, diaspora identity, and climate issues across Canada, US, and eastern Europe. She is a co-founder of the Windwood Music Festival in Airdrie, Alberta, bringing classical chamber music to rural communities. In 2024/2025, she performed with Barbara Hannigan, Lyrica Baroque, and Xenia Concerts. She has also toured with the Wang-Dietz Duo in China, and as a Debut Atlantic artist.

La pianiste canadienne Tong Wang est reconnue pour ses contributions novatrices dans les domaines de la performance, de la recherche et de l’engagement communautaire. Son travail explore les liens entre l’art, l’identité, la culture et les enjeux contemporains.
Parmi ses prestations les plus marquantes, mentionnons ses collaborations avec les orchestres symphoniques d’Edmonton et de Red Deer, ainsi qu’avec divers ensembles en Amérique du Nord et en Europe.
Tong détient un baccalauréat et une maîtrise en interprétation pianistique du New England Conservatory. Elle est également diplômée de l’École de musique Schulich et elle est titulaire d’une bourse de doctorat à l’université McGill.
